Exercising During Your Period

3 Tips for training during your period

A healthy woman can train all year round without any inconvenience. However, even today there are women who do not want to train during their PERIOD because they feel uncomfortable and embarrassed by this factor of female nature. Menstruation does not prevent physical training. If you want to have a healthy body, you should always train, even during your period.

Here are 3 tips to exercise during your PERIOD.

1-Choose low-impact exercises

Fitness offers an infinite variety of disciplines, exercises, and specific workouts. On the days you go through your period, you can choose low-impact exercises that don’t require exaggerated effort. For example, if you want to lose weight and you regularly run, swim, or jump rope, you can choose other alternatives.

During menstruation you can choose to walk for an hour, which is an excellent aerobic exercise. If you lift weights, during the days of your period you can work your upper body: back, shoulders, arms, pectorals. Train your glutes and legs on non-menstrual days.

2-Choose the right clothes for exercise

Clothing is a very important factor in training during your period. Just choose comfortable, loose-fitting clothes to work out in during those days. Wear a sports bra so you can move easily. Major lingerie brands already sell underwear for training during menstruation. Of course, during your period you should avoid tight-fitting, light-colored clothes. Your priority should be comfort so that nothing prevents you from exercising. The most suitable fabrics for your underwear are lycra and cotton.

These types of garments absorb perspiration well and are soft to the touch.

3-Drinking plenty of water

You have to drink a lot of water every day, especially during your period.

Good hydration will prevent you from getting too tired and quitting your workout. Remember that you have to recover the water your body loses while training. If you are one of those who don’t like water too much, you can try other alternatives. Natural fruit juices are a powerful source of minerals, antioxidants and vitamins. Choose grapefruit or orange citrus juices, which speed up metabolism. If you want you can drink isotonic drinks, which are made for athletes. This type of drink contains a lot of minerals with which you can feel well hydrated.

The most important thing to know is that you can train during your period. Exercise will make you feel great. If you need it, you can take analgesics to avoid the typical pain of menstruation.
